I enjoyed my time here, especially with the beautiful beachfront just a few steps away to take advantage of lovely walks and the nearby Mersea Island Museum that's only about 1 km away, which made it easy for me to discover its interesting local history.

Amazing views, but dinner was disappointing

We had a nice 2-night stay in a king room with a balcony. The view of the sea was stunning, perfect for chilling out. our dinner experience was a letdown. The food didn’t match the menu descriptions, and my vegan burger turned out to be beef! On the bright side, the bar area was lively and fun.

Had a wonderful time relaxing in the sun terrace and enjoying the stunning garden. The family room was spacious and comfortable, making our stay even better, although the shower didn't drain well, which was a bit of a hassle. Definitely recommend trying the breakfast menu. the variety is great! 😊

Great spot for beach vibes

Had a lovely stay! The vibe was super chill, and the staff were mega friendly. Perfect location for dog walks on the beach, which my kids and our spaniels loved. One thing tho, the menu was a bit limited during our stay, which was a bummer since we wanted to try the fish and chips.

I arrived at The Victory filled with anticipation, thanks to its charming coastal location. The staff welcomed me warmly, creating an immediate sense of hospitality. My room had a delightful sea view, and while it was quite small, the cleanliness and decor made it comfortable for my stay. Unfortunately, the room lacked temperature control, leaving it a bit too warm for my liking. the shower drainage was an issue, collecting water quickly and requiring me to rush through my showers. The breakfast experience was mixed. The full English breakfast was commendable, but the variety of cereals and juices left much to be desired. The tables in the dining area felt sticky, implying that cleanliness in common areas needs attention. The service was friendly but noticeably slow during busy times, leading to longer waits for meals. A bit more staffing could really enhance the overall experience. Parking was convenient, and for those traveling with pets, the dog-friendly policy is a notable plus. Despite some inconveniences, the stunning views and delicious food certainly made my time enjoyable.

Nice place to unwind

Just spent a night here with the family. The location was awesome, right on the coast, and the staff were cheerful. We ordered fish and chips, which were fresh and crispy, but it took a bit longer than we expected for our food. The room was really nice, though, so that made up for it!

The King Room with Sea View offered a spectacular sight at sunset, complemented by a comfortable bed and an enjoyable atmosphere. the dining experience fell short, particularly with the overpriced soft drinks and mediocre food quality, leaving much to be desired.

Just a reliable pick for a fleeting pause in West Mersea with good value for price. The staff went out of their way to leave a bunch of flowers and some scones in my room after an oversight. Check if your room is away from any kitchen noise during the day.

i recently stayed for two nights in a king room with sea view and was blown away by the stunning views over the boats. the room was clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. the breakfast was excellent, with freshly baked pastries and a great variety of options.

We had an amazing stay with great family-friendly activities! The crabbing right by the quayside was a highlight, and breakfast offered delicious vegan options. The children's playground was a hit too!

Had a fantastic trip with friends! We loved exploring the Essex Wildlife Trust's Nature Reserve at Abberton Reservoir with stunning views. The staff were great and breakfast was top-notch. For some fun, we also enjoyed crabbing and a boat trip nearby. Make sure you plan for the high tide access to the island. Highly recommend the pub for a relaxed meal!

Our room had a noisy sofa bed that was quite uncomfortable. It really put a damper on what would have been a perfect stay.
